2011-12 FOOTSTEPS IN FAITH
Family Faith Formation Ministry
For children and their parents age 4 through grade 5

Footsteps meets about twice monthly throughout the school year and covers doctrines of the Catholic faith while providing opportunities for prayer, faith-filled    activities, and fun. Footsteps in Faith is not a drop-off program -- families pray together before the start of every session, and then while young people are in their grade-level rooms, parents are invited to participate in a program built just for them.

Catechists Needed
for all 2011-12 Programs

Catechists are needed for all of our Faith Formation Programs: 

• First Reconciliation & First Eucharist Prep

• Confirmation Prep

• Children’s Liturgy of the Word

• Footsteps in Faith

• RCIA Leaders

• Leaders to facilitate adult formation programs
  (i.e. book and bible studies)

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Most every Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. liturgy, the children ages 5 to 12 are invited to the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. During the time when adults listen to the proclamation of the Word and the Homily, the children are also listening to the Word with sharing of ideas about the special message of Jesus for each Sunday.

We also provide take-home leaflets that we hope will help our children discover the Gospels for themselves in a way that is positive and enjoyable, encouraging their natural curiosity and creativity to lead them to know Jesus and to recognize his love in their young lives as they set out on their journey of faith.

Registration is not necessary for Children's Liturgy of the Word.  New Leaders and Assistants are always welcome.  Please contact Lori in the faith Formation office for more details.

Adult Faith Formation

We at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community believe that all adults are called to continue their faith formation and spiritual growth.  Faith formation is ongoing from "womb to tomb" from our birth to the natural end of our lives.  Learning about our faith is not just for children!  It is for everyone! Every Catholic is invited to walk with Christ in his or her daily life, to gather faithfully together on Sunday at Mass, and to grow in wisdom and knowledge about the faith. When adults--parents--grandparents--single--old and young--adults of all cultural backgrounds--participate in faith formation, we mature together in our faith as a community and we are better equipped to help the children and youth of our community to grow in theirs. To this end, we have many opportunities available for adults in our parish community
