Cantors
Cantors are a vital part
of our music ministry it is the cantor’s responsibility to
welcome the congregation to Mass, announce and lead the songs
during the liturgy. Cantors should ideally be studying voice
privately or have significant choral experience.
Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists enhance liturgy by helping to “lead and
sustain the singing of the assembly…,add varied and colorful
dimensions to the song, especially with the addition of
harmonization” (Sing to the Lord) and provide instrumental
meditations. Instrumentalists should be comfortable reading
music, transposing (if necessary), and playing independently
in front of a congregation.
Voices of Light Choir
The Voices of Light Choir sings at the 10:30am Mass every
Sunday from October to May. Rehearsals are on Thursday
evenings (6:00-8:00pm) in the chapel. The choir sings a range
of repertoire and members are encouraged to practice
independently if needed. Practice cd’s are available upon
request.
