Confirmation at Our Lady of Light is celebrated starting in the fifth grade. This sacrament seals our Baptismal commitment to Christ in the Holy Spirit and offers our young people the opportunity to confirm our faith.

Registration forms for the 2007-08 sacramental season should be submitted to the office no later than September 19, 2007 and if not baptized at Our Lady of Light, your child's baptismal certificate should be attached to the registration form.

Program components
If your child is ready for participation in the sacrament of confirmation, there are three components.

First, the child and at least one parent must attend all  preparation sessions for each sacrament. Sessions will begin in the Church.

Second, your child must be involved in an ongoing faith formation program.  This can be either through formal religion classes at a Diocesan Catholic school, through Children's Faith Formation offered here at the church, or for those in 6th grade or older, in our Edge or Lifeteen programs. Children must have been actively participating in a Faith Formation program the year prior to reception of confirmation. Only two Children's Faith Formation absences are allowed for those wishing to be confirmed in the 2007-08 season.
