Sharing faith does not just happen in a physical church building. It can happen in any place, including your own home. Your home is a small Church, a place where God is present and guides you through the everyday moments of life. It is also the place to nurture and teach your children about God and His ways. The atmosphere of your home can be filled with faith and can be a powerful tool to share God’s love with your family.
Footsteps in Faith is a family-centered faith formation program designed to help children ages 3 through 5th grade, and their parents, explore their faith together. During the twice-monthly meetings, families participate in activities such as crafts, stories, and games that are aimed at helping them learn more about their faith. There is also time for discussion, reflecting on what has been learned, and prayer.
The family also works together at home to complete activities that help to further educate and appreciate the beauty of our Catholic Faith. This allows them to have the space and time needed to grow in their relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to deepen their love for Him. The goal of Footsteps in Faith is to help families grow in their faith and strengthen their bond with each other.
Our Lady of Light Parish encourages families to live out their faith throughout the year in tangible ways. To help families do this, Footsteps in Faith offers a variety of family faith events that families can participate in. These events provide an opportunity for families to come together and grow in their faith while having fun and creating memories. We hope that these events will foster a deeper connection between families and their faith community.
